Barack Obama won the endorsement Wednesday of former Rep. Tim Roemer, D-Ind., an outspoken member of the independent bipartisan inquiry into the Sept. 11 attacks who has pressed the Bush administration to enact the panel’s recommendations.

Roemer said that Obama had “shown the right judgment and has the best plans to deal with the national security challenges facing America,” adding that Obama had “rightly warned” that the war in Iraq would divert attention from waging the war against al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.
