Getting your player ready...

Denver forward Carmelo Anthony, who won’t play tonight because of an ankle injury, said he hopes to play in the next game, Sunday at Dallas.

“That’s what I’m looking for,” Anthony said this morning. “But, I can tell you, I’m not going to push it or force it. If I feel like I can’t make moves or go left and right, then I’m not going to go.”

Anthony, who will start in the NBA All-Star Game, said the ankle is feeling better, thanks to treatment this week. Anthony injured the ankle Monday at Los Angeles against the Lakers.

Anthony had been wearing a protective boot on his foot, which he no longer wears. Speaking to reporters, a smiling Anthony said: “I didn’t want y’all to be on my back like they are with Tom Brady, so I took it off.”
