A high school wrestling coach in Pittsburgh bit off more than he could chew Monday, Jan. 21.

No, Central Cambria High School coach Mike Marshall didn’t take on too much responsibility. He actually bit one of his wrestlers.

“The coach was wrestling with him and bit him in the leg, the upper thigh,” Cambria Township police officer James McGough told The Associated Press.

The student did not want to prosecute and said he would drop the matter if Marshall agreed to resign, police said. Marshall did resign Wednesday, rather than risk criminal charges.

“The incident occurred while he was joking around with one of the wrestlers,” Marshall’s attorney, John D. Messina, told the AP. “Certainly it was poor judgment and it cost him his job.”
