It’s Super Bowl weekend, so that must mean you want my prediction. What’s that? Well you’re going to get my prediction anyway, pal.
This may come as a shock to Plaxico Burress, who predicted 23-17 Giants, but the Patriots are going to score 30-plus points. If not 30-plus, then 40-plus. The Giants? They should just be glad to be there.
God bless the Giants, but what do you say we talk a little reality here? Going into the playoffs, they barely cracked anyone’s Top 10 list among NFL teams.
The history of the Super Bowl tells us the better team virtually always wins. Not only that, the team from the better conference virtually always wins. This just in: The Pats fit both bills.
Not only that, they’re motivated. They desperately want the historical validation that only a 19-0 season could provide. And keep in mind, not all of them have three Super Bowl rings. Randy Moss doesn’t have one. Neither do Laurence Maroney or Junior Seau.
A team for the ages, with all the motivation in the world, against a good team on a great run. Sounds like the perfect storm to me.
