A woman killed in a car crash on C-470 Sunday night has been identified as Judith Merrifield, 39, of Denver, the Colorado State Patrol said today.
Merrifield was driving a red BMW M3 Sunday night when she lost control of the speeding vehicle on C-470 near Kipling Street the CSP said.
Merrifield, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jefferson County coroner.
Numerous witnesses told investigators the car raced past them before losing control and rolling several times at about 6:40 p.m., said Trooper Ryan Sullivan.
The investigation shut down two of the three eastbound lanes of C-470 for hours Sunday evening.
