A 6,500-square-foot home valued at up to $1 million was ravaged by fire in Westminster this evening.

No one was home when the 13-year-old home in the 3700 block of 81st Place went up in flames. A neighbor called 911 at about 6 p.m., before the blaze knocked out power to much of the neighborhood, said Diana Allen, a spokeswoman for the department.

Investigators were still working at the scene late into the night, but early indications were that the blaze started in the electrical wiring.

There were no injuries or casualties, as one firefighter escaped injury when he fell about five feet through the floor of the utility room.
