Gov. Bill Ritter signed the first law of the 2008 legislative session Thursday, a measure to keep foster kids in touch with their siblings.
The new state law requires counties to arrange visits between foster children and their brothers and sisters.
“Sometimes these brothers and sisters are the only family they have,” Ritter said. “When a foster child makes a request to see their brother or sister, we should all listen.”
