The “make my day better” bill sponsored by Rep. Cory Gardner, R-Yuma, was rejected 5-4 by the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday night. The measure would have allowed anyone to use deadly force against a person who has made an unlawful entry into a business and if there is “a reasonable belief that the other person has committed a crime” in the business.
