The Democratic- controlled House Education Committee killed a bill Thursday that would have locked in college tuition rates.
Rep. Bob Gardner’s bill would have required a state school to offer freshmen a set tuition rate as they worked toward two- and four-year degrees. Students also would have had to maintain a grade-point average of at least 2.0.
