PUEBLO, Colo.—The driver of a tractor-trailer rig that slid into the back of a patrol car, killing a woman, now faces charges.

The State Patrol says the patrol car was parked on the shoulder of Interstate 25 Wednesday while a trooper investigated a previous accident when the truck struck it.

A woman in the cruiser was killed. The trooper and another woman in the cruiser were injured, along with the truck driver, German Rosales.

The State Patrol says Rosales, of Riverside, Calif., has been charged with careless driving causing death, two counts of careless driving causing bodily injury, and violating commercial vehicle rules.
