OTEPAA, Estonia—Eldar Ronning led a Norwegian sweep in the men’s sprint and Petra Majdic of Slovenia won the women’s event at a cross-country World Cup ski meet Sunday.
Ronning passed John Kristian Dahl with a few yards to go and edged his teammate by 0.10 seconds in the men’s 1.4-kilometer classic style final. It was Ronning’s first win of the season. Ola Vigen Hattestad was third, 0.5 behind.
Majdic won the women’s 1.2K final, beating runner-up Astrid Jacobsen of Norway by 1.2 seconds.
Lukas Bauer of the Czech Republic did not compete Sunday, but retained his overall lead with 916 points. On the women’s side, Virpi Kuitunen of Finland finished third and increased her overall lead to 979 points.
