COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Court records show a suspect arrested in the fatal weekend shooting of two men had served nine years in prison for sexual assault.
Hiram Larry Sampson was arrested Sunday on suspicion of first-degree murder.
The arrest warrant affidavit has been sealed.
Colorado court records show the 32-year-old Sampson was convicted of first-degree sexual assault in 1994 and was sentenced to 12 years in prison. He was released in 2003.
His father, Hiram L. Sampson Senior of Texas, says his son had been shot three years ago. The elder Sampson declined to comment further.
