ARVADA—A woman who apparently chased her dog onto a frozen private lake was found dead under the ice Tuesday.
Aurora police said the 77-year-old woman’s husband called authorities when couple’s dog returned from a walk without its owner.
Rescue crews responded to a lake near private homes at 60th Avenue and Ward Road. It appears the woman went out onto the ice to retrieve her dog, although police said there were no indications the dog fell through.
Authorities withheld the woman’s name while they informed family members.
