
The top four placers in each of the 16 statewide regional wrestling tournaments (four in each classification) will travel to the Pepsi Center next week for the state’s most popular annual event. The quest to become Colorado’s 15th four-time state champion begins Friday for Loveland’s 135-pounder Tyler Graff at Northglenn. Other Class 5A sites include Doherty, Fort Collins and Columbine.

Marriott Denver West hosting honors
A dozen seniors will be honored Monday at the National Football Foundation banquet also saluting 2007 title coaches. The state chapter will present scholarship contributions to Bo Bolen, Grandview; Cameron Browne, Bear Creek; Curtis Cunningham, Columbine; Jack Elway, Cherry Creek; Levi Greenly, Platte Valley; Tyler Jackson, Douglas County; Collin Klein, Loveland; Jon Major, Ponderosa; Matthew Mankoff, Thomas Jefferson; Rex Morgan, Greeley West; Michael Philbin, Evergreen; and Andrew Sampson, Overland. The coaches are John Schultz, 5A Grandview; Monte Pinkerton, 4A Pueblo West; Dan McGinn, 3A Berthoud; Michael DeWall, 2A Platte Valley; Brian Christensen, 1A Akron; John Barber, 8-man Merino; and Shawn Randel, 6-man Eads.
