A man and a juvenile male have been arrested for investigation of attempted first degree murder in connection to what police describe as a gang-related fight yesterday.

Two people were shot during the confrontation at High Hollow Park but do not have life-threatening injuries, Aurora police Det. Shannon Lucy said.

The victims, an adult man and a juvenile male, were reported in stable condition.

About 4:30 p.m., Aurora officers responded to the park near East Louisiana Avenue and South Uravan Street after callers reported that between 20 and 50 juveniles had gathered in the park.

Lucy said many students from nearby high schools were at the park during the fight, but most of them were only there as spectators.

Police are searching for additional evidence in connection with the shooting including weapons that may have been discarded, Lucy said.

The Aurora police department has also added officers to area high schools to increase security and provide safety for teachers and students. Police have also increased patrols near the high schools, Lucy said.

As police arrived, a sergeant reported hearing shots fired and chased a possible suspect on foot.
