A suspect in a double murder in Colorado Springs on Feb. 9 was arrested in Hopkinsville, Ky., today, police said.

Darneau Pepper, 35, will likely be charged with first-degree murder, police said. He was picked up by the FBI on a federal warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

An argument at a party at apartment at 2133 Delta Drive in Colorado Springs turned to gunfire last weekend. Darrell Mitchell, 20, and Samone Robinson, 21, died from head wounds. Two other party-goers were wounded.

Hiram Larry Sampson, 32, was arrested Sunday in Colorado Springs and is being held without bond in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center until his Feb. 20 arraignment on first-degree murder charges.

Sampson and Pepper have served lengthy prison sentences on various charges. Pepper was paroled on Sept. 13 after serving four years on charges that included kidnapping, according to the Colorado Department of Corrections database.
