The Colorado Rockies defeated reliever Brian Fuentes in their salary arbitration case today, meaning the left-hander will make $5.05 million this season instead of the $6.5 million he requested.

This is only the third time the Rockies have gone to a hearing in franchise history. Fuentes, a three-time All-Star closer, is scheduled to be the Rockies’ primary setup reliever this season.
