A dry, stable air mass over the Denver area will allow daytime temperatures to rise into the 50s today.

But by tomorrow a weak weather system will cap metro area temperatures in the upper 30s and Denver could see a slight chance – 10 percent – of snow early Thursday morning sometime after 3 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Today, winds should gust in some mountain areas and along the U.S. 285 corridor in the high country, but they should diminish late this morning.

A few high clouds will dot the mountain skies today but high country temperatures will warm up a bit, the forecast high for Vail is 40 degrees, the weather service reports.

Areas throughout the northeastern corner of Colorado could see some patchy freezing drizzle tonight, according to the weather service. Denver’s overnight low temperature should be about 26 degrees.

By Wednesday afternoon a new weather pattern is expected to bring snow showers to the Four Corners area that will spread into the mountains.
