Ghost Buffalo is one of the most exciting live bands in the state, and as they’ve proven before, they’re pretty great on CD, too. The group releases “The Magician” with a Thursday show at the Larimer Lounge. After listening to the recording once all the way through, we’ve got to say congratulations to singer Marie Litton, her three bandmates, producer Bob Ferbrache and Suburban Home Records’ Virgil Dickerson. This is an album to remember. Hear songs from the new record: . And get your tickets to the show as well.
Built to Spill loves to tour. Anybody paying attention to local venue schedules can see that. Ask a hard-core fan how many times the band has toured its excellent ’06 release “You in Reverse” and you’ll likely get an overwhelmed expression. “Four? Five?” And that’s just in Colorado. Regardless, Doug Martsch brings his group all the way from Idaho to play the Gothic Theatre (again) on Thursday. Their special guests: Meat Puppets.
Billy Joel doesn’t tour much these days. He doesn’t record much, either. What does he do? Maybe he’ll talk about his hobbies, his family and such when he plays the Pepsi Center on Thursday.
