The 13-year-old Connecticut boy who died Tuesday on the Diamondback trail at Keystone has been identified as Kenneth Joyce of Glastonbury.
Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson said Joyce was found about 10:15 a.m. near some trees with chest trauma. He was wearing a helmet.
His cause of death was blunt-force trauma to the chest due to skiing into a tree, she said.
Kate Lessman, a resort spokesperson, said that a call came into the Keystone ski patrol at about 10:15 a.m. and that the patrol responded immediately.
The patrol provided life support, and Joyce was then airlifted to Summit County Medical Center in Frisco, where he was pronounced dead at 11:53 a.m.
The youth was visiting the resort with his family. They had arrived Saturday.
