CHENEY, Wash. — Freshman guard Courtney Stoermer just missed a triple-double Saturday in leading Northern Colorado over Eastern Washington, which broke the Bears’ (12-13, 6-6 Big Sky) three-game losing streak.
Stoermer had 21 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. The points and assists are career highs. Senior center Danielle Haugen had 15 points and nine rebounds.
Colorado Mines 61, Colorado Christian 53
LAKEWOOD — The Orediggers held Colorado Christian to 12 points in the first half while building a 16-point lead, then held on in the second half to get the win.
Emily Dalton led Mines with 23 points. Talmai Aguirre led the Cougars with 22 points.
Regis 78, Chadron State 73
CHADRON, Neb. — Stevi Seitz’s layup with 1:03 left to give the Rangers a 74-71 lead, and Breanne Burley’s two free throws with 15 seconds left sealed the win.
Paulina Tuell led Regis with 26 points. Kammy Martindale added 15. Martindale scored seven straight points to put the Rangers up 24-14 in the first half, but the Eagles took a 59-57 lead in the second half.
