The Northern Colorado baseball team swept a doubleheader Saturday against No. 20 Texas A&M, winning 3-1 and 4-2 to improve to 2-1.
UNC senior pitcher Jon Klausing threw a complete- game five-hitter in the opener, and the Bears took the second game thanks to three solo home runs.
Short-handed 14ers win easily.
With NBDL all-stars Billy Thomas and Kaniel Dickens getting called up to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, the Colorado 14ers had only eight players Saturday night.
But the 14ers had seven players score in double figures to win their fifth straight with a 112-88 win over Bakersfield. Colorado was led by Elton Brown’s 27 points and 13 rebounds.
Eagles beat Rage, tie for first.
The Colorado Eagles beat the Rocky Mountain Rage 4-1 on Saturday night in Loveland and moved into a first-place tie with the Rage in the Central Hockey League’s Northwest Division for the first time this season.
