ARVADA, Colo.—A judge in Arvada says a German shepherd that bit a neighbor can live because the dog doesn’t pose a clear and present danger.
Judge Mike Graber ruled that Rolo can return to his owner, Laura Hagan, who was found guilty Tuesday of having a dog running at large and of having a dangerous animal.
Graber’s ruling reversed an earlier decision that the dog be destroyed.
Hagan received a 90-day suspended sentence and won’t have to go to jail if Rolo stays out of trouble for a year.
Hagan must continue training with Rolo, learn how to better control her dog, and must carry $100,000 in liability insurance. She must have her 6-foot fence inspected and must notify the court if she moves.
