A female motorist was thrown from her car at the end of a 2-mile chase by a state trooper this afternoon in Weld County.

The 26-year-old from LaSalle was badly hurt and airlifted to Northern Colorado Medical Center after she rolled her car off Weld County Road 44 into a field, said Trooper Gilbert Mares, a spokesman for the patrol.

The woman was identified as Amanda M. Amen.

The trooper had noticed the woman weaving on U.S. 85 at about 3 p.m. When the officer tried to pull her over, she sped away at about 80 mph, Mares said.

She turned west on County Road 44, ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and came back across the highway before the car flipped in the ditch on the left side of the road.

Mares said that alcohol and drugs are not suspected as contributing factors, however a medical condition may have contributed to the accident.
