AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Andrew Volkening made 19 saves, and five different Falcons scored goals in a 5-0 victory over American International on Saturday night.
Derrick Burnett, Sean Bertsch, Owen Kelly, Jeff Hajner and Brent Olson scored for the Falcons.
It was the final regular-season game for both teams.
Air Force finished in third place in the Atlantic Hockey Association at 17-11-6 overall and 14-9-5 in the league. AIC finished in 10th place (8-21-5 and 8-17-3).
As the No.3 seed, Air Force will host the Bentley Falcons in the AHA quarterfinals at the Cadet Ice Arena.
The three-game series begins Friday at 7:05 p.m. American International is the No. 10 seed and will travel to West Point to face top-seeded Army in the quarterfinals.
