MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Lindsay Davenport won her 55th career singles title and fourth since giving birth to her son last summer, beating Olga Govortsova 6-2, 6-1 in 60 minutes in the Cellular South Cup final.
On the men’s side, Robin Soderling advanced to his second consecutive ATP final, beating Radek Stepanek 7-6 (2), 6-3. Soderling will play Steve Darcis, who advanced to his second career ATP final by defeating Jonas Bjorkman 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
With her victory, Davenport tied Virginia Wade for seventh place on the career victory list.
• Eighth-seeded Elena Dementieva won the Dubai Championships, beating second-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in an all-Russian final.
