The University of Denver men’s lacrosse team fell to 1-2 on the season with a 9-6 loss at Maryland-Baltimore County Saturday.
The Pioneers could not overcome four unanswered goal runs by the Retrievers. Sophomore Charley Dickenson led Denver with two assists, and junior Joey Murray had a goal and an assist.
Cold start dooms Falcons.
The Air Force men’s lacrosse team lost 12-4 to host Army, falling to 1-1 on the season. The Falcons fell behind 7-0 and did not score until senior Jack Parchman’s goal with seven seconds left before halftime.
Eagles tie for lead.
The Colorado Eagles moved into a tie with the Rocky Mountain Rage in the Northwest Division of the Central Hockey League. Greg Pankewicz had a hat trick and led the Eagles to a 5-2 victory over the New Mexico Scorpions, while the Rage lost 5-4 to the Mississippi RiverKings.
This is the second time the Eagles have tied the Rage, who have been in first place all season.
