BOULDER, Colo.—A University of Colorado freshman who allegedly had about $30,000 worth of iPods, laptop computers and digital cameras in his dorm room has been arrested on suspicion of theft and burglary.

Brandon Michael Reuter, 18, is suspected of breaking into the book store at the student center three times since Friday and taking electronics, including about 80 iPods, CU police Cmdr. Brad Wiesley said.

Wiesley wouldn’t specify why officers suspected Reuter but said detectives received information from numerous “sources” that led them to Reuter’s room, where they found the stolen electronics.

Wiesley said Reuter’s roommate was not suspected of a crime as of Wednesday.

Reuter was free on $3,500 bond Wednesday. He was due to be formally charged March 13. He did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment.

CU’s Office of Judicial Affairs will decide Reuter’s fate at CU.
