TUCSON — Jason Hirsh says it’s not red flag, but the Rockies’ big righthander won’t pitch in today’s Cactus League game against the White Sox at Hi Corbett Field.

A candidate for the fourth or fifth starter job, Hirsh was scheduled to throw three innings today. However, a sore throwing shoulder will keep him on the bench, and he won’t pitch again until Sunday.

“My shoulder’s just a little sore, but it’s not a big deal,” Hirsh said this morning. “It’s just a normal part of spring training. At this stage of camp, we are just erring on the side of caution.”

Talented young lefty Franklin Morales, also battling for a spot in the rotation, starts against the White Sox. He’s scheduled to pitch three innings.
