GOLDEN, Colo.—Two men who have each been deported three times have pleaded guilty to human smuggling.
Exal Sanchez-Figueroa and Luis Contreras-Ferreira, both 25, could face four to 12 years in prison at a sentencing hearing set for April 14.
The Jefferson County district attorney’s office says that in November, troopers stopped a van Contreras-Ferreira was driving on Interstate 70 for weaving in Wheat Ridge. Prosecutors say troopers found 15 undocumented foreign nationals in the van, which was headed to Kansas.
