DENVER—Authorities say a 44-year-old woman is dead after a semitrailer trailer hit her when she got out of her car on the interstate after an accident.
The Colorado State Patrol says the accident that killed Yelena Lyubimskaya happened as two trailers tried to avoid her Saturday night. One the trailers struck the woman’s car, throwing her into the path of the same trailer. She was taken to Denver Health Medical Center where she died.
State Patrol spokesman Gilbert Mares says Lyubimskaya got out of her Chevrolet Trailblazer after an accident with a Pontiac Sunfire on Interstate 70 east of E-470. The driver of the Sunfire suffered minor injuries.
The trailer rolled on its right side after hitting a concrete barrier.
