Colorado climber Erik Weihenmayer – the first blind man to summit Mount Everest – will introduce the Colorado premiere of the award-winning documentary “Blindsight” at the Mayan Theatre (110 Broadway) on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Himalayas, “Blindsight” follows the gripping true adventure of six blind Tibetan teenagers who set out to climb the 23,000-foot Lhakpa Ri, on the north side of Mount Everest, led by Weihenmayer and blind educator and adventure seeker Sabriye Tenberken. Weihenmayer and Tenberken, who founded Braille Without Borders, will attend the premiere along with the film’s producers and other cast members.

The film is being presented to the Denver community by Global Explorers, a Colorado nonprofit organization that offers international immersion programs for students in partnership with Weihenmayer. Tickets for the fundraising event are $25 per person or $100 for those interested in attending a premovie-release gathering at The Hornet.

Check it out: Contact Global Explorers at 877-627-1425 or info@globalexplorers.org for tickets.
