TUCSON — The Rockies made their first spring cuts this afternoon, sending seven players to their minor-league camp, including pitchers Greg Reynolds and Casey Weathers, their first-round draft choices in 2006 and 2007, respectively.

The players optioned to minor-league camp were right-handed pitchers Esmil Rogers and Pedro Strop.

The six players reassigned to minor-league camp were right-handed pitchers Alberto Arias, Brandon Hynick, Zach McClellan, Reynolds and Weathers.

Reynolds, a starting pitcher returning from shoulder surgery, appeared in two games, posting a 6.75 ERA.

Weathers, a reliever, went 0-1 with a 13.25 ERA in two Cactus League games.
