A man who was run down last week by a hit-and-run driver and died of his injuries was identified today.

The Denver Coroner’s Office said the victim was McArthur Hysaw, 65, of Denver.

The hit-and-run happened at about 7:10 p.m. Friday on East Evans Avenue, just east of South Dahlia Street, police said.

A silver sedan heading west struck Hysaw, who was taken to Denver Health Medical Center. He died there Saturday.

The vehicle was damaged, and police found a mirror from the passenger side of the vehicle and other parts at the scene.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Denver police traffic investigations bureau at 720-913-6216 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP.
