Data from the Colorado Department of Revenue show that 2007 holiday sales in the state were up from 2006.

The report, issued Wednesday, showed total sales in the retail trade sector — a broad group that includes everything from clothing and accessories stores to gas stations — in December were up 8.5 percent from the previous year.

Sales for November were up 12.7 percent. For the two months combined, sales were up 10.3 percent.
