
COLORADO SPRINGS — Mike Testwuide’s series-winning goal 2:58 into overtime gave Colorado College a 3-2 victory Saturday over Alaska-Anchorage and swept the Tigers into the semifinals of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament.
Testwuide tied the game in the third period to cap a two-goal rally. His overtime goal came off an assist from Bill Sweatt and Jack Hillen.
Anchorage had taken a 2-1 lead with less than four minutes remaining in the second period after Josh Lunden scored.
CC goaltender Richard Bachman went the distance, recording 18 saves. But it was the Tigers who smattered Anchorage with shots. Seawolves goalie Jon Olthuis had 27 saves.
Colorado College (28-9-1) won the best-of-three series and advanced to the the WCHA’s Final Five, which begins with a quarterfinal game Thursday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. The top-seeded Tigers will play Friday in the semifinals.
