A former Utah state representative has filed to run for his old seat, but he’s switched parties. David Hogue, who has been a registered Republican for 47 years, has filed to run as a Democrat in District 52. Hogue lives in Riverton. He says Republican leadership is out of step with the values most people in Utah have. Hogue opposed a private school voucher program that was endorsed by legislative leaders and Republican Gov. Jon Huntsman.
