A Colorado Springs woman was shot dead in her front yard on Flintridge Square this afternoon, with two children inside.
Police identified the woman as 34-year-old Colleen Dwyer. A man was also found dead in the yard, with a pistol near his body.
Police did not identify the man, as they seek to notify his next of kin. They say the relationship between him and Dwyer is still under investigation.
Police were first called on a report from someone who heard shots being fired at the home.
The El Paso County Coroner’s Office will conduct autopsies.
