Getting your player ready...
Limon legend Warren Mitchell is better than Peter Pan and, like the square root of pi, has hard-to-comprehend numbers. In his 57th year coaching high school sports, Mitchell, 82, right, has been named to the National High School Hall of Fame. Induction will be July 7 in Washington, D.C. The class includes four coaches with a combined 186 years on the job, topped, of course, by Mitchell. He was an assistant on football teams that had winning streaks of 42 and 44 games. Over three sports — and generations — including a still-growing, 54-year run heading boys track, his all-time coaching mark is 694-247-6 with 27 state titles. And he has accumulated an astounding 117 coaching seasons.
