COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A district judge has delayed the trial of a Colorado Springs man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend.

Authorities say 36-year-old Salvator Esquivel-Castillo was to stand trial on murder and kidnapping charges April 29th, but prosecutors have not yet provided reports from forensic experts to his attorneys.

Twenty-two-year-old Jaclyn Funderburg disappeared last July 11th. Her body was found in a field July 22nd.

Esquivel-Castillo has pleaded not guilty.

Colorado Springs police had previously identified him as a person of interest in her disappearance. Officers arrested him the day after Funderburg vanished for allegedly choking her and breaking her jaw weeks earlier.

Fourth Judicial District Judge David Shakes has rescheduled the trial for July 8th.
