DENVER—A Commerce City man is being ordered to serve 27 years in prison for stabbing his ex-wife to death.
Sixty-two-year-old Raymond Chacon pleaded guilty earlier this year to second-degree murder in the April 2007 death of Cora Marie Archuleta.
The 54-year-old woman was stabbed at a home she shared with Chacon. She was able to get up and go to a neighbor’s house for help before collapsing, and told authorities before she died at a hospital that her ex-husband was responsible.
Chacon had told detectives that he saw Archuleta at a bar with another man on the night before the stabbing.
