BOULDER — A University of Colorado freshman suspected of throwing a large mirror out of his 12th-floor residence hall room that struck a man below was jailed on $5,000 bond.

Nineteen-year-old Rolf William Johnson was arrested Saturday and faces charges of second-degree assault, third-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Police responding to the scene early Friday found a 19-year-old CU student with cuts to her foot and a man who was hit in the back of the head.

Campus police say Johnson was arrested after officers received a series of tips. Police did not release a motive. Investigators did not think there were any other suspects and did not suspect alcohol or drugs were involved.
