Janus Capital Group Inc., the Denver-based money manager, reduced chief executive Gary Black’s pay by 39 percent to $9.2 million in 2007 from a year earlier, when his compensation included a one-time bonus.

Black, 47, received a salary of $800,000 last year, unchanged from 2006, according to a filing Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Black got a $6.3 million cash bonus, $1.08 million in option awards and $975,457 in stock awards, according to the filing.

Black’s 2006 pay of $15 million included a $4.8 million one-time bonus granted when he joined Janus in 2004.
