GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A lacrosse team had to be rescued from an elevator after 18 of their members crammed into a hotel elevator designed to hold five people.

Grand Junction Fire Department officials say the lacrosse team from Ponderosa High School was stuck in the immobile elevator for an hour before they were rescued. The players and coaches had to climb through a hatch in the elevator’s roof to get out.

No one was injured but the elevator is out of order.
