The Colorado AFL-CIO at its convention Friday adopted a new governing structure with changes to its constitution to move out of trusteeship. It is shrinking the size of its governing board to 18 representatives instead of 42, a move intended to streamline the governing structure.

The Colorado AFL-CIO also elected Dwayne Stephens from the Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local 9 as its president and Dave Atkinson from the International Association of Machinists Local 1886 as secretary-treasurer.
