Westminster police are looking for 30-year-old Brian Frye, who is suicidal and possibly armed with a bomb.
Police were told at 3:25 p.m. today that Frye was holed-up in his apartment in the 9000 block of Vance Street iun Westminster after threatening suicide.
When they reached Frye’s apartment, he was gone, but they found items used to make a bomb with a note saying he planned to kill himself.
Authorities evacuated the apartment building and called in the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad to remove the explosives from the apartment, allowing residents to go back to their apartments afterward, police said.
Westminster Police are still looking for Frye.
Police said he is an avid outdoorsman who owns several guns, but authorities do not know if he is carrying a gun or more explosives.
Frye drives a dark blue 1988 Chevrolet K5 Blazer, possibly with the license plate 427-DMX.
While police are asking the public’s help in finding Frye, they stressed “extreme caution” and said not to approach Frye, since he is possibly armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about his immediate whereabouts is asked to call 911. Any other information can be provided by calling the Westminster Police Department at 303-430-2400, extension 5.
