Getting your player ready...
After 13 seasons, the University of Denver on Tuesday parted ways with women’s basketball coach Pam Tanner.
The Pioneers ended 11-19 (6-12 in the Sun Belt Conference) this season, and Tanner was 190-181 in her tenure.
Requests to interview athletic director Peg Bradley-Doppes or anyone else in the administration about Tanner’s departure were denied.
In a news release, Tanner said: “I was fortunate to be able to teach and coach at such a fine institution. The time is right to pursue other opportunities. I wish everyone at DU all the best and continued success.”
Tanner guided DU to the 2001 NCAA Tournament, with the Pioneers finishing 24-7. But the team has had just one 20-win season since, going 20-11 in 2006-07.
