AURORA, Colo.—Aurora police are looking for a second suspect in the robbery of a Party City store, after an officer shot another suspect.
Authorities say they responded to a 911 call about a robbery in progress about 9 p.m. Thursday.
Police spokesman Det. Robert Friel says officers surprised the suspects as they were coming out of the business, and that one suspect had taken a hostage and appeared to have a gun.
That suspect was shot. The hostage was not hurt, but the second suspect got away.
No details about the hostage have been released.
Friel says a preliminary investigation shows the officer was justified in shooting the suspect.
Police say the suspect is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
