
Hundreds of flights were delayed and a handful were canceled at Denver International Airport on Sunday as afternoon thunderstorms hit Colorado’s Eastern Plains.

Flights were being delayed by an average of 48 minutes earlier that day because of a thunderstorm-fueled at the Denver airport, according to the . The ground delay had been lifted by 6:30 p.m., though rain continued across the metro area.
Delays included 211 Southwest flights, 163 United flights, 82 SkyWest flights, 29 Frontier flights, 20 Delta flights and 18 American Airlines flights, according to FlightAware. Another 10 airlines delayed between one and nine flights.
United, Southwest and Icelandair each canceled one flight, according to FlightAware.
