The Denver Police Department today identified the armed man shot and killed at his home by SWAT team members Friday as Nathan Aguillard, 26.
The officers who shot him are Ronald Fox and Thomas McKibben, both 21-year veterans of the department, according to police,
The shooting happened at Aguillard’s apartment at 4754 Peoria St.
Police said Aguillard had a gun when officers came to arrest him Friday morning on a warrant and to search of his second-floor apartment at the Villages at Gateway.
Police said they found both drugs and weapons in the apartment.
Monday night, neighbors said they did not know Aguillard well. He was social, but rarely invited neighbors to his gatherings, they said.
“He was friendly enough to say hi,” said Hector Ramos, who lives with his girlfriend near Aguillard’s building. “I guess when you live that kind of life that ends up that way, you have to know who your friends are very, very well.”
